There’s a strong case to be made for Alan Partridge being the greatest British comedy creation of all time – of greater national importance than even the esteemed likes of Basil Fawlty, Del Boy and David Brent.

Which is why the recent avalanche of Alan action has been so welcome. First came Mid-Morning Matters, then I, Partridge: We Need To Talk About Alan, then Alan Partridge: Welcome To The Places Of My Life – instant classics, all of them.

Next came the long-awaited confirmation that a Partridge movie is in the works (and set for release in August 2013) – and now, Sky have confirmed that production on a second series of Mid-Morning Matters has also begun. Verily, our Alan cup runneth over!

With so much red-hot Partridge action raining down on us, now’s the time to take a look back over some of the East Anglian broadcasting behemoth’s greatest moments.
