01 It's never too late to start again
Ben Affleck got his career off to a great start when he picked up the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1997 for Good Will Hunting, co-written with Matt Damon. But then, for some unknown reason, Affleck spent the next decade starring in some really crap films, notably Man About Town, Jersey Girl and Gigli. Having his name turned into the inevitable Hollywood hybrid of Bennifer (Ben and Jennifer, geddit?) seemed like the final nail in the coffin where his career, and testicles, lay.
Fast forward to February 24, 2013 and you'll see one of the greatest career comebacks in movie history. Affleck picked up the Academy Award for Best Picture with Argo, to sit alongside the countless number of awards he'd picked up already. Forget nails in the coffin, this Oscar is the cherry on the cake. Bravo, Ben!
02 Don't take yourself too seriously
Poor Jennifer Lawrence. First her dress ripped at the SAG Awards, and then she fell up the stairs to collect her Academy Award for Best Actress in Silver Linings Playbook. There's now GIFs and memes aplenty but, when you look as good as she does, it's really hard to give a shit…
