It’s that time of year when Activision starts teasing us with snippets of information about the new Call of Duty game. Here’s what we know so far…
01 It’s set in the future
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions a future where both technology and tactics have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise.
Set in the year 2054, a private military corporation has emerged with the power to rescue humanity from a devastated world struggling to rebuild after a global attack on its military and infrastructure. So basically it’s probably about Google taking over everything, going sentient and then eventually going AWOL.
02 You have some cool new weapons and an exoskeleton suit
You are the advanced soldier. Empowered with new, cutting-edge exoskeleton abilities, and other techno-whizz shit, to join the ranks of a highly-trained, specialized unit committed to restoring peace and love again. You also have the ability to climb walls with special gloves, and there’s a very bad ass mech-suit. And hoverbikes.
It’s like it was dreamt up during a playground argument of ‘who would win in a fight? The SAS or the entire cast of Star Wars tag teaming with the Starship Troopers.’ Which is awesome.
03 Kevin Spacey is in it
Yup, Acadamy Award winning Kevin Spacey! He plays Jonathan Irons, head of ATLAS and he looks remarkably lifelike. So far there’s no info about whether or not it turns out the game is one big front for Kaiser Soze.
04 There’s a very cool reveal trailer
This trailer mainly show’s off Kevin Spacey, but it’s still more than enough to make your mouth froth and your eyes tear up with longing and excitement.
Expect more details soon, especially with FHM off to E3 in LA next month…
Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will be released 4th November for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
