Alex Jones has been sexying up our TVs for a wee while now, first catching our eye back in 1998 as a contestant on Sky’s truly bizarre Prickly Heat, a game-show featuring a bikini-clad Davina McCall cajoling young Brits into playing funny/mucky games on a beach in Majorca. Alex actually had to take her university exams in Magaluf, as the filming schedule clashed with her education – not the most fun a girl can have in that particular resort...
After years of working her way up the presenting ladder, Alex bagged herself one of TV’s plumnest roles: that of Smiley Non-English Tanned Lady on BBC One’s The One Show, a position she took over from Christine Bleakley.
Jones cemented her place in Britain’s collective heart by appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, finishing fifth overall. Not a brilliant result, but she did beat Lulu, Russell Grant and Edwina Currie, and you can’t say fairer than that.
