She's the only child of ex-Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay and exotic dancer Maureen Kelly.
Those screen-friendly looks are a result of French and Irish genes.
Minka Kelly may be the daughter of rock-star royalty Aerosmith guitar-twiddler Rick Dufay but she certainly hasn't had an easy stroll to fame and fortune. Minka's mum split with Dufay when Minka was still young, and she grew up as poor as a church mouse. At 19, wannabe model Minka was taken under the wing of a former Playboy Playmate, who wanted to remould Kelly in her image, fit her with fake boobies, and turn into the next Playmate Of The Year.
At the last minute, Minka decided to back away from the plastic funbags and concentrate instead on her true love, acting, and finally got her big break playing feisty fittie Lyla Garrity in cult US sports drama Friday Night Lights, before going on to conquer Movieland with roles in Just Go With It, The Roommate and (500) Days Of Summer. And not once did she have to flash her ya-yas at Hugh Hefner.
