Alicia Keys came up rough, but managed to escape ghetto life when she discovered her musical talent playing classical piano at the age of seven. She went on to join the Professional Performing Arts School at age twelve. As if that wasn’t enough Alicia Keys even appeared on The Cosby Show as a child. Winning at life from a young age, then.
Alicia Keys went the classic college route of a young talent but got signed and dropped out to follow her dream. She made the right choice and achieved five Grammy awards, being certified six time platinum on the release of her first album, Songs In A Minor, in 2001.
After three more, equally successful albums, Alicia Keys now does a lot of charity work. She’s like Bono but not annoying and doesn’t need to cover her face with glasses because she is pretty. The occasional silly hat is to be expected from someone with so much talent – musically and physically.
