Why we love Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried sort of snuck up on everyone, and then decided to stamp her name all over the place. She started acting at the tender age of nine, and even did six years of modelling before stopping at 17 to concentrate on singing and acting. The latter started to take off, to the extent that her commitments saw her miss 70 school days in her final year of school. That’s a lot of fake doctor’s notes. Having done some television work, Amanda Seyfried made her film debut alongside Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls, and followed it up with a lead role (if there is such a thing) in the hyperlinked Nine Lives. A few supporting roles later and she went a little bit quiet.
Amanda Seyfried seemed to disappear on this side of the pond because she’d landed herself a role in the American drama called Big Love (commitments for which have caused her to have to miss out on plenty of other jobs, including the lead in 2011 hot-girl-fest Sucker Punch to Emily Browning). But then she made a pretty big return in the we-really-hope-your-missus-didn’t-make-you-sit-through musical romcom Mamma Mia! and things seemed to take off again.
Since then she’s been raking in lead roles all over the place – including Jennifer’s Body, Dear John and Chloe – along with being listed as one of the rising stars with one of the most beautiful faces in all sorts of pointless polls. Wait till she gets herself on our 100 Sexiest list, then she’ll know that she’s made it.
