Why we love Candice Accola
We think being a vampire might be quite difficult. Aside from the whole 'drinking blood' thing and the 'bursting into flames when you're exposed to daylight' deal, we don't really own enough black clothing to pull off the Children of Night look.
Candice Accola is a vampire, though. Well. At least, she plays a vampire (a vampire called Caroline Forbes) in moody undead soap opera The Vampire Diaries, and that's almost as good in our book. She seems to be doing pretty well out of it.
Before she gave up sunlight and embraced the dance macabre, Candice used to sing professionally - she released an album whilst at high school called It's Always The Innocent Ones (which is a true statement if you discount the obviously guilty, natch). She's also done backing vocals in not one but two movies about Hannah Montana. Is that too many movies about Hannah Montana to have been in? We'll leave it up to you to decide.
Candice's first proper acting role was in the ill-fated Pirate Camp, which looks a bit like it's been patched together using old footage and outtakes from pirate health and safety videos.
She was also in Juno, which we really liked, but we reckon that her role as 'Female Lab Partner' really wasn't explored enough by the director. Poor show. Tsk.
