Why we love Carla Bruni
As a general rule, if you’re 5’ 5”, called Sarkozy, and president of France, try to avoid women anywhere near the six foot mark. Unless they’re Carla Bruni, in which case you’re stuffed. Buy some platforms and be done with it.
Before marrying France’s favourite little angry bear, Bruni has been connected with rock gods such as Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger, adding to a list that includes a former Prime Minister, a film director and more than a few high-profile French actors.
Once one of the world’s most highly paid supermodels, she gave it all up in 1997 to devote herself to music. Two albums have appeared since, and have been universally panned by critics. On the plus side, she’s 43 and still looks incredibly attractive, so it kind of evens out.
