Why we love Fergie
We hope you’ve already picked up on it by now with the picture and all, but just in case you haven’t, we’re talking about the Black Eyed Peas singer, not Sarah the Duchess of York, got it? Good. Because we have to be careful what we say about royalty, but we can say whatever the hell we want about anyone else. Ok, we can’t. We’re not Top Gear.
Fergie started off life as a straight-A’s student at school, starring in the Disney Channel’s Kids Incorporated show until she was 14. Then she made her big move in to music with a band called Wild Orchid. It took them two years to get a recording deal, and after two albums their third was never released, so Fergie left.
Then in 2002, she hooked up with The Black Eyed Peas to demo some vocals on the song ‘Shut Up’. She was soon offered a permanent position within the band and the rest, as they say, is history. Except there’s a lot of it and our job is to tell you. In 2006 Fergie went solo (without leaving The Black Eyed Peas) and had her own success with her album The Dutchess.
Not content with a successful solo career on top of The Black Eyed Peas, she also moved back in to acting with roles in the remake of Poseidon in 2006, as well as later appearances in Grindhouse and Nine. She could have just been grateful for the opportunity with BEP, but no, she had to try and take over the world too…what is it with some of these women?
