Gabriella Cilmi was spotted by a talent scout after she sang a cover of The Rolling Stones' Jumping Jack Flash, aged 13, at an Italian festival in Melbourne. Think Godfather opening minus the wedding - and a few less gangsters.
She has sung with Silverchair, Jet and the Sugababes as well as performing at the Pyramid Stage of Glastonbury and being featured on the St. Trinian's soundtrack.
Her single On A Mission was a UK hit and shot her to fame. She finds it hard to get a boyfriend with over-protective Italian-Australian brothers, but says she likes a rugged hairy guy that isn't too pretty.
