Why we love Jessica Chastain
Jessica represents the classic rags-to-riches American dream: growing up as one of five children in a low-income Californian suburb, she didn’t exactly have it easy – “I grew up poor,” she says, bluntly. But her sheer acting talent (and, let’s be honest, radiant and redheaded good looks) allowed her to escape her humble beginnings, attend acting classes at New York’s world-famous Juilliard School (paid for by Robin Williams), find work in TV shows such as ER, Veronica Mars and Law & Order, and eventually graduate to a starring role in one of the most talked-about movies of the decade (that’d be Zero Dark Thirty, not Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted).
