Why we love Rose Byrne
Rose Byrne might have stuck herself back to the forefront of your mind with her appearance as Jackie Q – Aldous Snow’s bit – in Get Him to the Greek, where she sleeps with Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. But the Australian actress been around for quite a while before that, as we’re sure you’ve noticed. She actually started her acting career in films when she was 15, but then it was another five years (a few TV appearances aside) until she started showing up in regular movies.
The eagle-eyed amongst you might have noticed her in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, where she was the handmaiden to Natalie Portman’s character Padme. Then she did a few Aussie films before a role in the epic war film Troy, and another as a hot meddler in Wicker Park. She made herself much better known to FHM though when she was in Danny Boyle’s sci-fi Sunshine. Action girls are hot. In fact, they’re so hot it led us to put together a few of our favourite ones, because we’re ace.
Since then she’s appeared in 28 Weeks Later and had a lead role in Knowing before last year’s endearing Jackie Q performance. What’s not endearing about lines like: “well do you want to wank while you rub my tits?” Exactly. There’s probably less of that sort of scripting coming up in her next film X-Men: First Class but it’ll still be worth watching to see her in another action role. We like.
