According to this video, The Beach Boys’ publishers Rondor Music are upset with Katy Perry and her crew because on her song California Gurls the top hip-hop star Snoop Dogg sings “I wish they all could be California girls” which is also a lyric in The Beach Boys’ hit California Girls. Confused? DON’T WORRY. You’re not as confused as Brian Wilson. Look at him:

What a tremendous man. He can be our Dad any time he likes. Again according to this video, Brian Wilson doesn’t actually care about the alleged word-theft and has said that he likes both Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg, which is good of him considering he was the chief songwriter in one of the best bands of all time. This seems to imply that Rondor Music are fighting this fight on their own, probably because they need some money as a result of the music industry being broken.
