There are some things we know about Emma Stone. One of them is that she’s in the new Spiderman movie. Another is that she once had an asthma attack while simulating sex. And another is that although she bowled everyone over with her husky voice and red hair in 2007’s Superbad, Stone is a natural blonde.
Of slightly lesser interest is the fact that at the time of casting for Superbad, she had brown hair, but Judd Apatow made her dye it all red. Even though that's the sort of sentence that's so insipid it belongs in a cupboard, we're sure you'll agree that Stone's return to her natural roots is not altogether a bad thing. Look: pretty.
"Back off, she's wearing a freaking CAPE!"
Stone showcased the look at the Vanity Fair Oscar party at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood. Even been there? Us neither, but if we had to guess, we’d say it’s the kind of place that combines modern convenience with old world charm.
It’s Hollywood Art Deco on the outside, but inside it’s air con and those fancy new Dyson Airblades in the loos. It’s got a bar, with warm walnut panelling, rose coloured light and a jazz pianist, while the telly in your room has access to over 700 international porn films. We’ve never been there, but if our imagination has any alignment with reality, it’s a great place to stay. Hoo-rah for the Sunset Tower Hotel.
In other Hollywood news, Charlie Sheen’s ABC News interview is very, very funny. If you haven’t seen it, do so. Here are the five best things he said:
1/ “My brain fires in a way that is not from this particular terrestrial realm.”
2/ “Bi-polar? What does that mean? I’m bi-winning.”
3/ “I was banging seven gram rocks and finishing them, because that’s how I roll.”
4/ “Dying is for fools.”
5/ “The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards, all of them, look like droopy-eyed armless children.”
And here ends the story about Emma Stone having natural blonde hair. Charlie Sheen kind of stole the show at the end though.
