Need another reason to dislike Cristiano Ronaldo? Here she is. Irina Shayk is a 25-year-old Russian swimsuit model, and she’s been seeing the Portuguese superstar since the middle of last year.

But that’s not the biggest news in Irina’s life right now. Oh no, the biggest news in Irina’s life right now is that she’s been selected as the cover model for Sports Illustrated’s iconic Swimsuit Edition.

Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition, out now

The legendary American magazine came out yesterday (far, far more incredible pics here) and features several of the finest bodies known to man including: Anne Vyalitsyna, Julie Henderson, Kate Upton, Alyssa Miller, Chrissy Teigen, Hilary Rhoda, Genevieve Morton, Damaris Lewis, Izabel Goulart and, of course, Shayk, who was photographed both in Hawaii and on Borocay Island in the Philippines.

So, what else can we tell you about the lovely Irina? Well, she was born in Yemanzhelinsk, Russia, but now lives in a one-bedroom apartment in New York. She is 5ft 10in. She has a pet dog. She has modelled for the likes of Guess, Lacoste and La Perla. Her father was a coal miner. And, by securing the Swimsuit Edition cover, she follows in the footsteps of models such as: Elle Macpherson, Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Petra Nemcova, Rachel Hunter and current FHM 100 Sexiest Women in World Global Winner Marisa Miller.

And talking of Miller, she’s been body painted by Sports Illustrated four times. Which begs the question: when are you going to vinyl matt Ronaldo’s lady, lads? When are you going to vinyl matt Ronaldo’s lady?
