The American rhythm and blues funk-fans among you will recognise that lyrical reference from KC and the Sunshine Band’s smash hit (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty. That 1976 banger went to number one in the US charts but was greeted with public outrage over lyrics interpreted as having sexual connotations.

Sheesh. Some public will outrage over anything, won’t they?

Let’s examine the evidence.

Irina Shayk hot
Palm trees: hard to put up straight

Exhibit One – the lyrics

Everybody, get on the floor, let's dance!
Don't fight your feelings, give yourself a chance!
Shake shake shake, shake shake shake,
Shake your booty! Shake your booty!
Oh, shake shake shake, shake shake shake,
Shake your booty!
Shake your booty.

You can, you can do it very well.
You're the best in the world, I can tell.
Shake shake shake, shake shake shake,
Shake your booty!
Shake your booty!

Oh, shake shake shake,
shake shake shake,
Shake your booty!
Shake your booty.

Shake shake, shake shake!
Shake shake, shake shake!

Shake shake shake, shake shake shake,

Shake your booty! Shake your booty!

Oh, shake shake shake, shake shake shake,

Shake your booty! Shake your booty.

Irina Shayk fit
Shayk's one-armed chin-ups were fooling no one

Anyway, you get the idea. It's mainly about having a booty and shaking it.

We attest, your honour, that the lyrics are nothing sexual. Rather, we proffer, they are a lighthearted and wholesome exploration into busting some funky moves on the dance floor, with a good dash of booty-shaking thrown in for good measure.

Irina Shayk sexy
Don't worry, Irina - no one's going to be looking at split ends

Exhibit Two – Irina Shayk

Irina Shayk is undeniably hot. We rely on case law Irina Shayk wore stupid shorts (still looked hot) in which her hotness was certified beyond dispute and the photographic evidence presented herein. As the court knows, what really hot girls say is nearly always correct.

Irina Shayk sex
Camouflage wasn't really cutting it

When we asked Irina Shayk what she thought of those lyrics, she said:

“What? Who the hell is this? How did you get this number? Wait… is that you in the bushes outside my house? You’ve been there every night this week, haven’t you? Right, I’m calling the police…” burrrrrr…

So that’s that settled. Irina Shayk has absolutely no problem with the lyrics of KC and the Sunshine Band.
