It’s a familiar scenario: on a work trip, in a hotel room, killing time before a big dinner by watching BBC World completely naked. The only way to relax. Three rounds of the same headlines later the loneliness creeps in and you’re logging on to the complimentary Wi-Fi to send your girlfriend some snaps of your bad self doing some lunges. Your own little way of staying in touch. Sweet, really.
Remarkably, 21-year-old Victoria’s Secret model Kylie Bisutti agrees.
“I send pictures of myself all the time,” she says. “I’m always doing that.” Bearing in mind the Idaho-born Angel has recently become part of an underwear aristocracy that tours the world in its pants, that’d be an email worth receiving.
Initially the Californian resident found it hard to get into modelling because of her big chest (her measurements are 34C-24-34.5, stat fans), but in December 2009 she won the first ever Victoria’s Secret Model Search to follow in the boob space of lingerie-wearing legends past and present such as Helena Christensen, Gisele Bundchen, Marisa Miller and Miranda Kerr.
A year and a bit on and Bisutti is enjoying being professionally beautiful. “I recently went to a resort in St Barts that was right on the water,” she says. “A huge room, a five-star resort. It was beautiful and the whole things was paid for. Food, massages. It’s crazy how much they spend on their girls.”
Not everyone appreciates the Victoria’s Secret girls, though. Some people even shout at them. Fat people, probably. “I was doing a shoe campaign in the street, and a girl walked by and yelled, ‘This girl needs to eat something’, at the top of her lungs. Everything inside of me wanted to yell back, ‘I got through a whole pizza last night!’ but that wouldn’t have been the most professional.”
She’s right, of course. Shouting at strangers in the street about Sloppy Guiseppes isn’t traditionally acceptable behaviour. Unless you’re a pizza seller. But what do women like Kylie like in a man? We asked her for some essential requirements…
LEARN TO COOK
“It’s definitely a turn-on when a man can cook. My favourite dinner is probably spaghetti and meatballs."
DON’T BE LAZY
“It’s really important to be an active person. I didn’t want to end up with anybody that was lazy – it’s very important to me that someone is fun and likes to do different things like travel, play sports and see movies.”
DON’T WORRY ABOUT MONEY
“It’s not important. I just want someone to be happy with their job so they’re not miserable every day, and if they’re not making very much money then that’s fine.”
A GIRL LOVES A GIFT
“I love clothes. I think all women like clothes and shoes, but I really like getting cards. They’re more personal.”
I STILL LOVE RECEIVING UNDERWEAR
“I’ve got a load of free underwear, a lot of free bras and different stuff like that but I love opening something sexy on Christmas morning. It’s always fun.”
DON’T INTRODUCE ME AS A MODEL
“That’s definitely important to me. My husband gets an A+ in that area because he never introduces me as ‘my wife the Victoria’s Secret model’ or anything like that.”
“I think there’s always been something really sexy about flannel shirts on guys. I just like it. With jeans that are not too tight but a little tight to show off your legs. I really like that.”
