American cheerleading comedy-drama Hellcats has been cancelled. This is bad news. We’re upset about this. No, of course we’ve never actually watched it, but that doesn’t mean we can’t mourn its passing, does it?

We’ve never had lunch with a panda, either, but we’d still be sad if they went extinct.

Apart from FHM Senior Writer Paul French, who thinks “We should stop trying to save those lazy bastards and just let them die out”.

The pandas, he means, not the cheerleaders – he’s fine with them.

Anyway, less about pandas, more about cheerleaders.

One of the best things about Hellcats, we’re told, alongside the gritty realism, emotive narrative and Byzantine character relationship weaves, is the presence of Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale. They play a couple of cheerleaders, which means they do a lot of naff dancing which looks less naff because other people are doing the same naff moves at the same time. Like this:

Did you enjoy that?

Well, actually, not good, because the cancellation of the show means there’ll be no more footage of Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale dancing around together as feisty cheerleaders. So, if you enjoyed it, it’s a bit like having lunch with a panda for the very first time, thinking “God, this is so totally great, we should definitely do this more often,” and then finding out they’re about to become extinct.

God, what’s with all this chat about pandas today? It’s pandemonium.

Anyway, the good news is that Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale will still be around, doing stuff. Like being in videos you may remember from the top of the page (Aly Michalka) or being in a video at the bottom of the page (Ashley Tisdale).
