The Saturdays have got a new video out. The Saturdays are all gorgeous. Do you want to watch them dance about the place? Yes.
The song, All Fired Up, is about having a good old dance. Fair enough. It’s a fine topic for a pop song, being as it is number three on a list of three possible pop topics (“I fancy you, which is a good thing” and “You don’t fancy me, which is a bad thing” are the other two), and we can imagine having a good old boogie to it ourselves. After a few, obviously, it’s not something we’d go into sober.
This video has four settings of increasing weirdness, which we’ll break down for you now:
- A black room, featureless but for the impression of windows on water, in which The Saturdays dance enthusiastically while wearing black
The Saturdays: rubbish at blinking contests
- A black room where The Saturdays stand motionless in white as though they are extremely sexy statues
Pauldrons: this seasons' chic new fashion
- A tiled room that looks a bit like a changing room where The Saturdays sit (presumably on a bench having moved the towels and trainers out of the way) and sing off-camera
- A further black room, this time filled with women in full gimp suits and facemasks (complete with leather whips for hair), kicking about in the water like gimp children in a gimp paddling pool
Parts of it are odd, to be frank, and it doesn’t channel the office-based sexiness of Notorious, their last video. But it’s still definitely good enough to give it a watch, you know what we mean?
