Always cracking your mates up in the local? Regular David Brent at work? Course you are. But could you handle the pressure of a real live audience or would you wilt under the spotlight like a wheezing whoopee cushion?

As part of massive new telly series - created by top TV comedy producers Baby Cow (co-owned by Steve Coogan) and fronted by Aussie funnyman Brendon Burns - to be broadcast later this year, FHM are once again looking for Britain’s best new comedian.

Last year, we crowned novice London comic Marlon Davis FHM’s Stand-Up Hero 2009, but this year the search is wider and the competition is tougher. From comedy virgins to circuit veterans, anyone can enter so long as they haven’t yet enjoyed ‘significant’ TV exposure. (So that’s you out, James Corden.)

Comedians looking for a chance at their big TV break sent us a 2-3 minute audition tape. These ranged from those professionally filmed onstage at their local club, to self-shot in front of the bathroom mirror – so long as it was funny, that was all we were after.

An expert panel have selected 25 regional finalists who will all appear in a six-part series to be broadcast on ITV4 in the autumn (details coming soon!). The winners of the regional heats will then go head-to-head in a grand final where the prizes include £10,000 cash – the largest prize in UK comedy.

Entries for 2010 are now closed.
