Cheryl Cole has taken the title of winning judge on X-Factor with her fellow South Shields entrant Joe McElderry who took 61% of the vote.

Cheryl Cole and Joe McElderry are tipped by The Telegraph to be planning a duet, but nothing has yet been confirmed. Joe needs to reap the benefits of his £1million record deal first so Cheryl may have to wait to climb aboard that bandwagon.

Simon Cowell, beaten by Cheryl, didn’t seem too upset while enjoying Joe’s winning performance of The Climb, with his arm groping around Cheryl Cole and his pockets lined deeper than ever before after bringing in 20 million viewers. Translated into advertising revenue that’s at least £15 million – and that’s not including the calls at 80p a go.

Do you think the right contestant won? And should X Factor come back again next year or is Simon rich enough?
