Every year The Campaign For Real Ale organises The Great British Beer Festival at Earls Court in London. And with twice as many women trying ale compared to last year, now is the time to go. Granted there are a lot of great bearded 'pros' enjoying the day, but it's also full of younger groups eager to learn more about what British produce has to offer. With prices at 50p for a generous half pint, it's a great place to start.

The festival mainly features ales from about the UK, but also has guest beers from around the world. Watch for some of the most potent ciders on the planet, going for the same price as the ales, this is always a popular stall.

The festival will be open from August 4 at 5pm, August 5-7 from midday and on August 8 from 11am. At a mere £8 entry this is the ultimate pub experience on a scale like nothing else. Get tickets here.
