Every time your mother ever told you to, "just be yourself," she lied. Every time your girlfriend or wife (or Billy Joel) has said, "I love you just the way you," they lied. The same goes for your grandmother, your aunt, your sister, and your pet hamster who happens to be a female.
The women in your life may love you, but they don't love all of you. I'm sure most of you know this already, but for those of you who don't, I apologize if it feels like a swift kick to the gonads. Not trying to be harsh, just breaking down what I know.
You may be wondering, how is this possible? Is there any concrete evidence to support the notion that the women in my life may have a problem with me being me?
The answer is yes, there's a shit ton of concrete evidence.
