Back in the 1960s while women were protesting for equal rights a pretty common trend known as "bra burning" began. Few women literally burned their bras, but the idea was that a bra is a symbol of societal oppression. Without one, women were able to feel independent not only from that oppressive construct, but from men in general. Going sans bra was a big thing then and consequently has become a big thing now—hmmmmm, I wonder why?? Ya'll don't think it has anything to do with the fact that women are STILL protesting, marching, and fighting for equal rights, do you?

See, while we may all be benefitting from see-through tops and peek-a-boo nipple rings, it's bigger than that. Celebrities, especially those of a younger generation like Kendall Jenner and Ariel Winter aren't rocking the no bra look to please you! In fact, quite the opposite. They're doing it, one) because they can and two) at the end of the day it's about reclaiming their bodies and freely expressing their sexuality. Plus, I imagine it's wayyyyyyy more comfortable. According to some women—taking their bra off at the end of the day is damn near orgasmic. Scratch that, according to ALL women, taking their bra off at the end of the day IS ORGASMIC. Can ya blame them? Imagine if men had to wear bras, or worse, contraptions to keep their balls pushed-up and perky all day—woof! I'm cringing at the thought.
