For those of you unaware, Charlize Theron is one of the most dynamic, sexy women in Hollywood. From Atomic Blonde and Monster to Mad Max: Fury Road, Theron continues to prove her versatility and skill as as an actress.
Recently, in an interview with Yahoo, Theron detailed her feelings on who's being considered as the new James Bond, herself included. While we commend Charlize's open-minded thinking, we disagree with one of her key sentiments. Theron explained:
"You know, I don't have a feeling about it one way or the other. I love the idea that people are thinking outside the box and I know for a long time people were talking about Idris Elba for it."
She added, "And it's just nice to see people now thinking outside of these confined ideas of what we think a character can be. I'm really all for that. I think it's great that we are developing more characters within that genre for females, that they can take ownership."
OK, nothing wrong with that, right? We completely agree that it's time for the film industry to consider females for roles conventionally given to men, however, Theron doesn't seem to think she's up to snuff. She continued, "So it's a really nice thing for people to say. I'm very old, though. I would be a very old James Bond."
What?! No way, Charlize Theorn. We're not letting you off that easy. We happen to think she'd make an absolute kick-ass James Bond. In fact, we're prepared to argue that very point, right here, right now.
