I know that given the headline you may be thinking I'm some sort of assh*le, 20-something who thinks this sort of reckless and ill-advised behavior is funny. Well, in that case, you'd be right. I'm sorry, but you really can't make this shit up and as a result I find it downright entertaining. Of course, there are aspects of the ordeal that I believe to be disrespectful, but when you boil it down to the bare-bone facts—yup, I'm going to keep laughing.

According to WQAD—"Two high school basketball coaches in Oklahoma have been fired for using a school bus to make a beer run. The impromptu booze search happened while the team was attending an out-of-town basketball camp. It was student athletes who first realized something was amiss. 'We noticed that the school bus was gone, but (the coach) had told us to stay in our dorms and so we proceeded to do that,' said Kyle Miller, one of the Tishomingo High School basketball players who was on the trip. The store clerk from the convenience store where the coaches bought the beer reported the coaches to state officials. They were fired by school officials the next day.

It's not as if the coaches got away with their delinquent scheme, which is why I feel less guilty about treating it like a joke. They lost their jobs! That's a pretty hefty price to pay for a couple of beers. Is it bad that I really want to know what sort of brew they purchased? I feel like I'd be more forgiving if it was quality stuff versus tall cans of Natty Ice. Call me shallow, why can I say?
