This Might Just Be 'Dr. Pimple Popper's' Gnarliest Cyst Removal Yet (Video)

Ah yes, the infamous Dr. Pimple Popper — why would we ever assume that this heinous social media trend has died? Clearly it's here to stay with a fan base that continues to grow faster than armpit hair on a 7th grader. People live for these videos, seriously. She's basically The Kardashians of the medical world.

Frankly, we much prefer your basic blackhead extraction, but people just love a good cyst video. Like this golf ball sized, ricotta cheese filled one....

Dr. Sandra Lee isn't just about showing off the goods, she likes to explain the process as well. You know, actually educate her viewers. What a concept, we know! For this video Lee writes:

"An epidermoid cyst (Epidermal Inclusion cyst, Infundibular cyst), is a benign growth commonly found in the skin and typically appears on the face, neck or trunk, but can occur anywhere on the body. Another name used is “sebacous cyst” but this is actually an antiquated misnomer, and is not a term used by dermatologists. They are also the most common type of cutaneous cysts. Epidermoid cysts result from the reproduction of epidermal cells within a confined space of the dermis.

"The pasty contents are mostly composed of macerated keratin (wet skin cells), which creates this “cheesy” consistency, and there can be a pungent odor. An epidermoid cyst may have no symptoms and are typically harmless. Usually people seek removal because they don’t like the appearance of these bumps, or the cyst has ruptured or been inflamed or “infected” in the past. Rupture is associated with sudden redness, pain, swelling, and local heat, and can lead to abscess formation.

We're sorry, but seeing the word "cheesy" associated with anything biological is just a total gag trigger. Seriously, it's a wonder how we didn't vomit at the mention of macerated keratin — so freakin' gross.

That's not to say we don't enjoy watching these videos, we do! It's just sometimes knowing the logistics ruins things a bit — sort of like talking about childbirth before having sex or eating chicken after watching a PETA video.
