Don't let her name fool you, guys, Dr. Pimple Popper on YouTube does a whole lot more than just your basic blackhead extractions. She's a full blown dermatologist who handles everything from cosmetic procedures to, erm, slightly more gruesome pursuits.
Today, by "more gruesome pursuits", we mean an pilar cyst lodged under some woman's scalp. Fair warning, y'all, it gets pretty bloody. The good news? There's not as much pus as usual. That's because, unlike epidermoid cysts, pilar cysts are firmer. Dr. Pimple Popper was able to remove the cyst without it busting open and spilling out all over the patient's head. Small victories, you know?
OK, this is the part of the article where we ask if you're still with us? We know that was pretty graphic, so, if you need a second to compose yourself, please do so. Alright, ready? How freakin' gnarly was that?! There's just something about cysts we find so creepy. It almost reminds us of when Voldemort was living on the back of Professor Quirrell's head. If you don't get the Harry Potter reference, you should really hop on that.
As mentioned earlier, pilar cysts are firm. Imagine having that thing stuck on your head? Man, that's got to be uncomfortable. According to Dr. Pimple Popper it is not uncommon to have multiple pilar cysts on the scalp and to have other family members to have these cysts. Hear that, guys? Unless pilar cysts run in the family, you should be OK. Phew, that's a relief.
