From Jack the Ripper to the assassination of JFK, there are certain famous unsolved mysteries that, no matter how much time has gone by, continue to grip the public interest, Question is, which mysteries top the list. Surely we just named two, but, are there any others? And, in that capacity, are there certain elements all of these mysteries share that make them more intriguing than the countless others?
Through the following question posed by reddit user, NoHatedNeed, we were able to discern a few common patterns in what makes an unsolved mystery go from interesting to, "Holy crap, I could spend my whole life investigating this." The question was as followed, "You're only allowed to find out the answer to just one famous unsolved mystery. Which do you choose and why?"
Many of the respondents were quick to answer which mystery, but didn't necessarily follow up with a lengthened why. That's where we come in, folks. In our opinion, the reason these crimes top the list is either A) they involve a famous/political figure B) they involve children and C) there's many conflicting theories. Of course, there's no rule against combining all three. Let's get started, shall we? Feel free to throw your conspiracy theories in the comment section.
