When it comes to world-saving, it seems that the guys may want to take a breather, because female superheroes have definitely been doing more than their share. And you can't argue against it, because the evidence is virtually everywhere, from Wonder Woman Gal Gadot to the ladies-heavy Supergirl cast led by Melissa Benoist. And then there's Jessica Jones on Netflix with Krysten Ritter in the title role, or the numerous Scarlett Johansson movies that have seen her playing Natasha Romanoff, better known as Black Widow; Zoe Saldana as Gamora in Guardians Of The Galaxy, and a number of new players on the way, among them Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and an actress-to-be-named in Joss Whedon's Batgirl.
Times are definitely changing, and with many women understandably feeling marginalized across the board, it only makes sense that it should apply to our movie and TV heroes as well. Besides, if you're going to have your ass saved by someone, would you rather it be Batman or Wonder Woman?
While you ponder that particular question, check out the guide we've compiled to a number of the female superheroes ready for action.
