We've all been there plenty of times in our lives. We've finished up lunch, are sitting in front of our computer and then, BOOM!, that feeling of sheer exhaustion kicks in and we just need a nap. Fighting the urge to curl up into the fetal position, we often go for coffee or some other type of sweet to wake us—but we have some better options that will help provide the kick you need without all the calories.

“Protein-rich snacks are more satisfying than sweets and will stabilize your blood sugar to maintain energy. They also provide essential amino acids to boost focus and concentration. Beef jerky, nuts and protein shakes are the best options.
“If you’re struggling to focus, ditch the coffee and have a cup of green tea—it has three times more caffeine than regular tea bags.”
