Chances are high that we all like to travel. Even as frustrating it is to find the right deal on a flight and hotel, pack, actually travel to the destination and then make sure we don't spend like crazy, getting away for a vacation is never a bad thing.
Well, except if something like this happens.
According to DailyMail, a couple who were staying at the Hotel Senador in Mexico City spent a week in their room with (gulp), a dead body beneath their bed, with the smell from the dead corpse enough to get the hotel staff's attention.
Police in Mexico City believe the woman's body had been there for at least a week when it was discovered at Hotel El Senador.
The foul smell eventually led staff to look under the bed and make the gruesome discovery.
Staff said that after the last guest checked out, they had noticed a strange smell coming from under the bed, and decided to lift it to see what it was.
It was then that the staff at the guest spot, which is located in Doctores Neighbourhood, one of the capital's most picturesque areas, discovered the plastic wrapped female corpse.
Two cleaning ladies initially reported the grisly find to management who immediately called police.
Something tells me that Hotel Senador may not get the best reviews moving forward.
Following the discovery, a coroner's report could only confirm that the cause of the woman's death was suffocation, meaning that something bad happened in that room and there was someone who, likely, got away with murder.
Here's what a spokesperson for Hotel Senador said, via DailyMail:
"During the time that we believe the woman was under the bed, several people checked into the room and slept with the body underneath the bed."
Apparently, staff said the lady arrived at the hotel with a male, but that there's no surveillance video of the two, meaning this is about as unsolved a mystery as it gets.
This sounds like a story from a horror movie, so I couldn't imagine having to actually live through something like this as a traveler or staff member at the hotel.
