Most of us understand the health risks that come along with eating McDonald's on the reg. I mean, don't get me wrong, enjoying a 6-piece chicken nuggets, those salty french fries and a McFlurry for dessert sounds amazing, but to do it all the time probably isn't the best for your body.
But don't tell that to 100-year-old Nadine Baum of Hanover, Pa., because the regular customer of her local Mickey D's has made it to triple digits, so she's clearly doing something right. And to reward Ms. Baum for reaching the century mark, those people at the Golden Arches hooked Nadine up big time—giving her free meals for the rest of her life, per Huffington Post.
On Oct. 13, Nadine thought she was going in for the usual lunch with her son when she was surprised with flowers, balloons and a “Happy Birthday” serenade from staff to celebrate her 100th birthday.
“I just can’t get over this,” Baum told The Evening Sun. “This is so wonderful.”
Sitting at her favorite table, Nadine enjoyed a Big Mac and a mocha frappe along with cake the staff had brought for her. The local crew have become close to the mother and son, with one employee saying she calls Nadine “Mom.”
Lately, however, Nadine has had to cut back on her visits to the restaurant due to arthritis, meaning the staff wanted to made sure they made her milestone birthday extra special.
And so to celebrate her 100th, they had quite the gift for Nadine. She was presented with a certificate for free meals for the rest of her life. They couldn’t have gotten her a better gift.
“I said that I’m going to go in three times a day, every day,” she told ABC News.
I know it's "just" McDonald's, but I'm actually smiling bigger than I have all week after seeing this. Seriously, such a sweet gesture for the 100-year-old Nadine.
A few months ago, we told you about the 103-year-old granny who sips a beer every day to keep her sharp, and now another lady in triple digits is praising McDonald's, so maybe we should take note and stop caring so much about what we eat? OK, maybe not, but still pretty cool.
