PowerUp's Motorized Paper Airplane Is The Badass "Grownup" Toy We've Been Dreaming Of

If we had to choose the biggest pain in the ass about adulthood, we'd have to say that no longer being able to play with toys definitely tops the list. Er, technically speaking there are plenty of adult toys we can indulge in and while those are great — they don't hold a candle to this badass, motorized paper airplane from PowerUp Toys.

While the concept is pretty straight-forward, a lot of consumers seem to have some questions surrounding the logistics of the PowerUp Dart. Fortunately, the company has a forum for people to throw their questions into the ring. Most of the questions we came across were ones we had ourselves.

These are just a few of the more frequently asked questions that overlapped with our curiosities...

"How Do I Control And Steer The Plane?"

"The POWERUP DART is controlled by an app on your smartphone. The airplane is connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth. Ascending & descending is achieved by increasing or decreasing the propeller speed, by sliding the throttle on the screen up or down. Steering is done by a rudder, tilting the phone right or left will tilt the rudder and steer the airplane."

It sounds pretty simple, but that doesn't mean we don't have our reservations. Perhaps this toy should only be used sober. Can you imagine trying to navigate this thing piss drunk — perhaps on some delicious Fall beer? That would be entertaining.

"Which Smartphones Can I Use With PowerUp Dart?"

"iPhone 4S or newer; iPod Touch 5th Gen or newer; iPad 3rd Gen or newer; iPad mini. Android: version 4.3 or higher, with Bluetooth 4.0 enabled devices."

We sincerely doubt any of these smartphone requirements should be any issue for any of y'all. If you don't have an iPhone 4S or newer, please let us know and we'll start our own Kickstarter for you.

"How Easy Is It To Fly PowerUp Dart?"

"POWERUP DART lets you take a part in the magic of flying, constructing your very own aircraft. A new pilot will need to take some time learning to trim and adjust the paper airplane in order to achieve a balanced airplane and precise control. The app is equipped with optional flight assist control system that restrains the airplane from diving in sharp turns. The more you fly, the better you get. The better you get, the more you enjoy! Flying aerobatics is easy, most of the tricks are done in boost mode which is literally throttle open 100%, looping and barrel rolls are easy and incredibly fun. Taking off with landing gear (only supplied with the Standard kits) is also easy, just throttle up and lift-off."

Let's all pretend to scoff at that "optional flight assist control system" even though yep, we'll definitely be needing that.
