Just when we had lost all hope for 2018, Pizza Hut's Pie Tops II sneakers hit the market and all is well in the world. Not only are these kicks stylish, they're high tech AF. Last year, Pizza Hut released the original Pie Tops sneakers as part of an ad campaign for March Madness. The basic concept was a smartshoe that could order pizza by pressing the Pizza Hut logo featured on the tongue.
This year, Pizza Hut took things to a whole new level of lazy and we're absolutely lovin' it. You hear that, McDonald's? Y'all should be taking some serious notes. The second installation of the Pie Tops now features an additional button on the left sneaker that can pause your TV. Yes, you read that correctly — pause your freakin' TV.
Why is this so important? Well, you won't ever have to miss a second of your TV show/movie again when the pizza delivery man arrives. Take a look at the teaser below, you won't regret it.
According to Fortune, these pizza-friendly sneakers are compatible with receivers from Spectrum, DirecTV, Xfinity, Dish, and Fios. Given Optimum's popularity, we're a little disappointed to see it wasn't featured in that group, but, hey! You can't have it all.
Despite the Pie Tops II being very real sneakers, they are, in fact, a means of promotion. Unlike when Kanye West drops new Yeezys, these shoes aren't going to be available in every Foot Locker from America to Japan, unfortunately.
According to The Verge, 50 pairs of the Pie Tops II will be available to purchase through HBX for an unspecified price during the week of March 19. Additional kicks will also be given away on social media, so be sure to check out Pizza Hut's Instagram for that.
