The Porsche brand has forever been associated with luxury, power, and class. To drive a Porsche is to set your social status above the masses of plebeians driving around in Toyota Corollas.
It's not the price tag alone that makes Porsches stand out — the concept, design, and execution are all important key factors as well. We can't speak for everyone, but we definitely wouldn't mind driving around in one.
That sentiment is ESPECIALLY true of Porsche's new electric Mission E — we know what you're thinking, "Electric cars are for hippies." Yeah well, there's nothing about this car that screams pachouli and bong water, trust us.
The Mission E has been in the concept stage for awhile. It was only recently that the car was announced for release. As per The Verge:
"A production version of the 2015 Porsche Mission E electric concept is scheduled to go on sale at the end of 2019, with a price expected to start in the $80,000 - $90,000 range, according to CAR Magazine."
$80,000 - $90,000 range?! While that's a pretty big chunk of change it's not that bad. To look at the car you'd think it'd cost upwards of $100,000 — easily. It's also going to be WICKED fast. The Verge continues:
"Unlike Porsche’s current range of hybrids the Mission E won’t be offered with any internal combustion engine assistance. And yet the concept promised a 0–60 time of less than 3.5 seconds and a top speed of around 155 mph through a dual-motor setup that also allows for all-wheel drive."
Uh yeah, we'll take 5 of them — please and thank you!
