I don't know what the hell sculptors have been smoking recently, but, after the debacle that occurred the other day when Cristiano Ronaldo's bust was unveiled at the airport in his native Madeira Islands, something seems kind of fishy.
And Ronaldo's statue isn't the only one that might leave some people wondering what's going on here.
That's because, in a ceremony last night in preparation of this weekend's WrestleMania, the WWE lifted the curtain off of a life-sized, bronze Ric Flair statue that, well, doesn't seem to resemble him at all.
Here's a closer look of The Nature Boy next to the newly unveiled statue, standing alongside his daughter—and fellow WWE wrestler—Charlotte Flair.
Now, I know what you're thinking: The statue's supposed to resemble a much younger Ric Flair, not the current, 68-year-old one, right? Well... ask yourself if that human-sized bronze statue looks anything like this:
Yeah, not really.
The two-time Hall of Famer might be the latest WWE icon to get a statue in his honor—joining the likes of Andre The Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Bruno Sammartino, and The Ultimate Warrior—but the sculptor who did it, Karen Atta, might have been confused with who she was trying to resemble, because this thing looks exactly like the Rocky statue in Philadelphia thanks to that flowing mane of hair.
Whatever, I don't have a statue in my honor, so who the hell am I to talk, right?
