For all intents and purposes, even with the abundance of people who complain about it, marriage is the goal of millions of men and women. The thought of forming a loving bond for the rest of each other's lives has long been one of the most desired feelings.
However, don't count actress Scarlett Johansson among the ones who think it's possible.
Speaking to Playboy magazine for their soon-to-be-released March/April 2017 issue, the 32-year-old Scarlett had this to say about spending your life with just one partner until eternity.
"I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work. It’s a lot of work...And the fact that it is such work for so many people—for everyone—the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing. It’s something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in, but I think it definitely goes against some instinct to look beyond."
Whoa, talk about a killing all those good Valentine's Day vibes, huh?
While ScarJo does say that the "idea of marriage is very romantic; it’s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing," she puts being a mom way ahead of being someone else's life partner.
Recently splitting with her now ex-husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac, Scarlett Johansson also got divorced from fellow actor Ryan Reynolds back in 2011, so she's sort of tried out the whole monogamy thing a couple of times.
Whether or not it's for her or not is still left to be seen, but, at the very least, this opens up the very, very, extra small chance of one of us landing her at some point in our lives... OK, maybe in our dreams.
