The San Antonio Spurs have long been the highest standard in all of professional sports, not just the NBA, with an incredible run through the past 20 years that's included five NBA titles and an unbelievable 50-plus wins in 19 of 20 regular seasons. The only time it didn't happen was in 1999, when there was an NBA lockout that shortened the season.
That said, it's all been done under one man's leadership, Gregg Popovich, who has proven to be a living legend both in his coaching ability and, of course, his well-documented sideline interviews where he's more passive aggressive than your girlfriend when you choose your buddies over her on a Friday night.
Anyway, Popovich and his Spurs are currently locked in a first-round playoff matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies, with the team playing on the road these past couple games, meaning they're trying to enjoy the perks of hotel and restaurant life.
While I'm not sure Pop is doing that or not, I can tell you that whoever he tipped at a restaurant called McEwen's on Monroe is enjoying things, because the Spurs head coach left him/her an insane $5,000 tip!

According to My San Antonio's Kelsey Bradshaw, the signature and handwriting matches that of Gregg Popovich, meaning we're all but certain the future Hall of Fame coach did, in fact, leave an enormous amount.
This also isn't the first time Popovich has done this, with another bill from April 2016 showing the coach leaving $1,000 on a $2,000 bill.
So, what have we concluded from this? It pays to wait on Gregg Popovich—literally—and the guy really enjoys a great dinner, because those tabs are insanely high!
