Jack Nicholson is inarguably one of Hollywood's greatest actors. Having just turned 80 this past April, Nicholson has been in the film circuit for nearly 60-years. To suggest that he has a niche genre or acting style is nearly impossible, as he is every bit chameleon as he is performer.
From satirical comedy to psychopathic characters, there's really not much that Jack can't do. In fact, I've found it pretty difficult myself to believe that the same man who plays Jack Torrance in The Shining is the same man who plays J.J. Gittes in Chinatown. Oh, and don't even get me started on his performance as The Joker in 1989's Batman. He was equal parts chilling as he was comical, and while I'm no actor, that can't be easy to pull off (as we clearly saw with Jared Leto in Suicide Squad).
My written praise is mere fluff compared to the actual accolades Nicholson has received throughout his career he's won 3 oscars all for Best Actor in a Leading Role as well as 7 Golden Globes. Overall he's been nominated 99 times for various awards, and has 85 wins. There are few in the game who can do it quite like he can, and we're thankful that we've gotten to indulge in the fruits of his labor on television and movie screens everywhere.
