While we really are super excited for Summer 2017, we have our reservations when it comes to the weather. It's not so much that we can't handle the heat, it's just a matter of what kind of heat we're talking. With global warming very much so being a real thing and the weather being as erratic as it's been, I fear that the days of 95 being an extreme are long gone. Soon to be replaced with 105 degree temperatures and A LOT of chaffing thighs. If there's any ladies reading—no shame in your thick thigh game!
To be fair it doesn't matter if it's 95 or 105, it's still f'in hot and if you're anything like me that heat goes beyond just making you uncomfortable—you borderline can't function (yes, I know, woe is me). No worries though, there are definitely ways to combat the summer heat and better yet, they don't even involve a pool or air conditioner! Take a look—
Sleeping Alone: As a keen example, my boyfriend is actually a human furnace. I don't know if some people are just hotter than others, but regardless, the more body heat, the more likely you are to sweat bullets at night. It may be lonely, but riding the dream wave solo is the best chance you've got to stay cool.
Wear Cotton: Cotton is the most breathable fabric there is, that's all there really is to it. As a means of contrast, think of leather or silk and how much ass sweat they create.
Loose Clothing: Another pretty self-explanatory one, but the baggier your clothing the less likely it is that the sweat is going to build up in the crevices of your unmentionables.
Dim Lighting: Light bulbs, while artificial still emit heat. If you're indoors, try and rely on natural lighting.
Ice/Cold Compress: Apply ice packs or cold compresses to pulse points/pressure points at the wrists, neck, elbows, groin, ankles, and behind the knees.
Carry An Umbrella: You're going to look like Mary Poppins but I promise, it's worth it. Less sunshine = less sweat, heat, and sunburn.
