The First Trailer For 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' Arrives, And It's Ready For Action

Kingsman: The Secret Service, released in 2015, was designed to give the spy genre a fresh coat of cinematic paint following the typical James Bond-like plots of the past.

It certainly did the job.

Combining the frenetic energy of director Matthew Vaughn with a witty and action-packed script by Vaughn and Jane Goldmajn, it dealt with a street kid being recruited into a British spy organization known as Kingsman. Conveniently, said recruitment was done at about the same time that a villain was preparing to remove most of humanity to restore balance to the planet.

Presumably, the outrageously fun chaos of the first film will return. That assumption is driven home by the film's first trailer, which is backed by Frank Sinatra's "My Way" in what has to be the most unique usage of that song ever.

It's two years later and that street kid, Garry "Eggsy" Unwin (Taron Egerton) is back—and definitely ready for action.

After Kingsman headquarters is destroyed, Eggsy, his trainer, Merlin (Mark Strong), and fellow agent Roxy Morton (Sophie Cookson) come to America to collaborate with our country's Kingsman counterpart, Statesman.

Once here, of course, a new threat arises in the form of Julianne Moore's criminal mastermind Poppy, who is part of a growing enemy organization known as the New World Order (which was responsible for the destruction of Kingsman headquarters).

Additional cast members include Jeff Bridges as Statesman head "Champ," Halle Berry as Ginger, in charge of Statesman's tech support; and Channing Tatum as one of their agents, Tequila.

Added into the mix are a couple of dead characters in the form of the returning Michael Caine as former Kingsman head Chester King, and Colin Firth as Eggsy's original recruiter, Harry Hart. How they come back is anyone's guess, but we're confident it will be handled cleverly and humorously.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be released on September 22nd.
