Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino And His Girlfriend Lauren Pesce School Us On The Ins And Outs Of A Successful Relationship

Just a couple weeks back we stumbled upon Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's stunning girlfriend, Lauren Pesce and we're sure glad we did! Both Mike and Lauren were kind enough to share the piece on Instagram and with that, a lightbulb went off here at FHM.

It's no secret that beautiful women and "manly-man" advice is our bread and butter, but at the end of the day even the most macho dude has to fall in love! Why not arm you guys with the best relationship advice we can find, so when your time comes you don't completely sh*t the bed (figuratively, not literally)?

Well, that's exactly what we're here to do today! We spoke with Lauren and Mike about all things relationships and we've gotta say, their advice is A+ stuff. Sit back, relax, and learn something. Maybe if you take their advice seriously, you won't be single for yet another holiday season.

FHM: So, before we get into the relationship advice. How did you two meet? Were you friends before dating? If so, do you think it's important for two people to be friends before jumping into the "romance"?

Lauren Pesce: Mike and I met in college in a math class. We immediately hit it off and basically started dating then and there. I absolutely think it's super important to become friends in the beginning stages of dating. If you take the time to get to know each other you naturally form a level of respect and value for the other person and that becomes the solid foundation to the future relationship. We are lucky to be each other's best friends, as cheesy as that sounds.

FHM: What would you say the most important aspect of any successful relationship is?

Lauren Pesce: Honesty, loyalty, communication and sex — and consistency of all of them!

Mike Sorrentino: Patience, compromise, consistency and always take the high road.

FHM: What's the best way to handle an argument?

Lauren Pesce: Letting each other cool down if heated, and then really talk it out once your emotions have been tamed. Anything and everything should be able to be talked through and compromised if you’re open and honest and direct while being respectful of your partner's feelings.

Mike Sorrentino: I️ would run the tape on every response before it comes out of your mouth, that way you can avoid saying something you’ll regret while also avoiding unwanted consequences by saying something mean in the heat of the moment. I like to keep the peace as best I️ can, as well as stress from yourself. There’s no need to ever come out of your peace.
