Tesla have just launched their new SUV, the Model X.
It seats 7 people, travels about 250 miles on just one charge (yep, it's electric) and it has falcon wing doors. What does that mean? It means they lift up instead of to the side, like boring, old, normal car doors.
The top level model does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, which is crazy fast for something that's essentially an electric family car.
Then, there's all the clever tech stuff that Tesla's known for. Things like walking up to the car at a certain angle with the key in your pocket will open the doors ready for you to get in. Those falcon wing doors at the back? They adjust too, opening wider or tighter depending on whether or not there's cars parked nearby. There's a bioweapons defense mode. Disappointingly, it doesn't turn into an Anderson shelter or anything, it just improves the air quality to 'hospital quality'.
With the Model X expected to run up to about £95,000, that's highly likely to turn a lot of would-be buyers away. Oh, and if you do have that sort of money, the wait is nearly a year if you order today. So, there's that.
Now, if only they'd hurry up with those Futurama transport tube things.
