The holidays are full of a bunch of stress that's unavoidable—like spending 72 hours at your in-laws' house, who enforce a no sex rule—not to mention all the drama of actually heading to an overpacked mall to buy presents.
However, things get a little dicier if or when, God forbid, you injure yourself.
Believe it or not, holiday-related injuries are a hell of a lot more common than you might think, with people falling victim to bumps, bruises and emergency rooms in random fashion. And, thanks to research from the Quartz, we now know the most common ways people injure themselves during the holidays.
So, while you're unwrapping all those presents or adjusting the lights on the house, be extra careful, otherwise you could find yourself among these statistics.
We're pretty sure you're not going to cut yourself on wrapping paper, but, who knows, maybe you're so excited about getting that Red Rider BB gun that you accidentally slice yourself up?
The more common laceration probably comes from actually cutting the wrapping paper and, in essence, cutting yourself with scissors—so be careful out there.
