Alicia Vikander Makes For One Badass Lara Croft In The Official 'Tomb Raider' Teaser And Movie-Poster

A lot of die hard Tomb Raider fans have found it difficult to accept Alicia Vikander replacing Angelina Jolie as the iconic and sexy as hell, Lara Croft. Of course, as with most remakes in Hollywood, it's status quo to bring in a newbie — that's just the nature of show business, friends! Doesn't mean we can't give her a chance, right? Right!

If this new movie-poster and official teaser is any indication, we suspect that Alicia will be just fine as Lara Croft. In fact, she looks pretty freakin' badass! Channeling the energy of Croft flawlessly and most definitely giving Angelina a run for her money (not that she doesn't have enough of it as is).

Pretty awesome, huh? We know it's just a poster, but there's definitely some clues to be taken from it. According to IGN, here are some further details about things:

" The image is heavily inspired by the 2013 game reboot and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Alicia Vikander, who plays Lara Croft in the film, is holding what seems to be a red climbing axe, the same type of weapon players wield in the recent games. She also seems to have picked up a similar wound on her right arm, just like in the 2013 game reboot."

If nothing else, fans should be reassured that despite the difference in lead actress, the story is going to remain true to roots — right down to the weaponry. Even more exciting than the post however, is the teaser, which can be viewed below.

The official full-length trailer of Tomb Raider is scheduled to drop some time today! We will be sure to update y'all with that information as soon as it comes in. Don't forget, Tomb Raider is set to open in theaters on March 16, 2018.
