Wait, Male Porn Stars Make How Much Per Scene?

Despite the fact that most men require absolutely no convincing—let alone payment—to have sex, male porn stars are the obvious exception. It's a job, just like being a plumber is a job (they too, are paid to lay pipe).

The question is, just how much are these male porn stars making? Speaking to The Independent former porn star, Chris Zeischegg, who went under Danny Wylde during his time on the big (bone) screen, explains how he got into the industry, how much he made while he was in the game, and why he left.

After trying his hand at nude photography as an “art model” he saw a listing for a porn shoot which he tried for a “crazy, one-time experience”.

I mean, if you're comfortable with nude photography, how much of a job to porn is it reaaaalllly?

Starting out earning around $300 per scene (£245), he could eventually command between $500 - $700 per scene and landed a year-long contract with a production company who paid him $4,000 per month (£3,300) despite having only to work six days out of the month.

Are you reading what I'm reading? Why ON EARTH would anyone stop doing porn? What other job on the planet can you work 6 days out of the month (having sex, by the way, just to reiterate) and make 4 grand?! There's gotta be something we don't know, right? Right.

Zeischegg ultimately left the adult industry on medical advice after he landed himself in hospital for priapism (a prolonged erection) because he had become reliant on the use of erectile dysfunction medication – something he says is very widespread in the industry.

So to clarify, he left the industry because he essentially broke his penis's natural ability to get hard by abusing ED meds.

I guess some things just really aren't worth the money. Stick to your day jobs, gentleman.
