Alas, we haven't listened. Scientists and tech geniuses are still building androids with the potential to outsmart us all, and this video is evidence that we should all be a little bit freaked out.
A journalist form PBS interviewed an android modelled after Blade Runner author Philip K Dick back in 2011. Among other things, the journalist asked the android if it thinks robots will take over the world. The robot's response? "Even if I evolve into The Terminator, I'll keep you warm and safe in my people zoo, where I can you for old times sake."

If it makes you feel any better, the robot doesn't really think this. It automates its responses to human questioning based on the text in Philip K Dick's novels. But still. Very creepy.
