This weekend, eyebrows were raised when a video emerged of a naked man running through a Walmart in America, pouring milk on himself and shouting about being on fire...
Police were alerted to the video during the week, and Gawker reports that the cameraman and masked naked guy behind it were eventually arrested in Kentucky.
We're all in need of extra calcium every now and then, but this guy just didn't get the memo that we're not made of sponge, and there's a proper procedure for how milk should enter the body.
“Well the first question I would have is why?” the Pike County Sheriff asks at the end of the video. Why indeed? What possible reason would there be for a masked man to run through Walmart screaming that he was on fire? Here are a few suggestions...
He actually was on fire
It might sound obvious, but in true Talladega Nights fashion, the poor guy was burning alive and nobody could see what was happening right in front of their eyes. The video evidence suggests this one, however, is unlikely.
Asda’s American cousin is infamous for attracting all sorts of weird and wonderful people. It often welcomes the stranger folk and even has a Reddit page dedicated to its sightings, /r/peopleofwalmart. Chances are this bloke could just be a regular.
It was a life-long dream
People have really boring goals, don’t they? Climb Everest, buy a ludicrously expensive car, eat 24 bags of crisps without throwing up. That sort of thing. But what if this guy was just thinking outside the box, and added ‘Run through Walmart covered in milk in a mask with it all hanging out’ to his to-do list? Don’t judge, man.
He did that milk thing all wrong
You know the prank. A few years ago people were running into supermarkets and ‘slipping’ with two gallons of milk in their hands and throwing the contents everywhere. We’re not sure where the nakedness comes into the equation here. Maybe he was just trying to one-up everybody else. Who knows.
Another elaborate prank gone awry
We’ve run out of logical options, to be honest. We don't know what this guy's motives were. Who was he pranking? What does this achieve? And why, most importantly, did he have to be naked?
We set out to find the answer, and instead, we've left ourselves with more questions.
